Maví Figueres has been a Judicial Interpreter for over 10 years, interpreting in thousands of criminal, civil, and family law
cases.
Ms Figueres has been featured on the Birmingham News in segments on Court Interpreters, on NPR's “State of the ReUnion”, Alabama TV, Fox News, and more.
A featured speaker regarding the use of Interpreters in court and during trials at the Circuit and District Judges' annual conference, Ms Figueres was also the featured speaker at the Municipal
Judges' conference in Montgomery Alabama, and Alabama Association of Paralegals annual conference.
For years, Ms. Figueres has acted as a coach for attorneys on the use of qualified Interpreters during depositions and trials. Also, she has been training paralegals and legal assistants in several
law firms on how to assess an interpreter's qualifications.
She has advised the Governor on intercultural issues and led a Trade Mission on behalf of Alabama businesses. As a bilingual/Multicultural mediator, Maví has led mediations in legal proceedings, as
well as during international business negotiations.
Ms. Figueres has taught total immersion Spanish courses at the Berlitz Language Center, in Westport, Connecticut. These courses were designed for large corporations, as well as regular classes at the
Center.
Ms. Figueres is also a member of NAJIT, the National Association of Judiciary Interpreters and Translators
